Today was April's very favorite day of the year. It was time for camp registration!

April positioned her laptop on her knees as she shuffled back in bed until she was sitting against the headboard. Then she jammed her headphones in her ears and opened up the Skype chat where her friends were waiting.

"Hi, April!" Ripley immediately screeched as soon as April's face showed up on the screen.

"Hi guys!" April chirped. "You ready to crush this and regain our rightful places in Roanoke Cabin?"

"It's just clicking on a link when it goes live," Mal grumbled. Her hair was a mess and it was clear she had just barely woken up on time. "It's not like it's some big exciting moment."

"Please. It's the most important day of the springtime and you know it," April said loftily. "If camp fills up without us, we can't see each other!"

Ripley let out a whimper.

"See, she gets it," Molly said.

"Ooh, guys," Jo said, tapping her watch. "It's almost time. Let's do this."

"For Roanoke, on three!" April cheered. "One, two, three, refresh!"  

"Hi, this is April. Leave a message!"

The dorms seemed kind of quiet tonight, which was a shame because April felt like going out. Problem was, she didn't really know where to go or have any friends who she felt like asking to come with her, so it was proving difficult to make a plan.

For the moment, she was sitting on her bed, painting her nails. The window and door were wide open because fumes, but don't worry, she was wearing headphones, so the sound of Taylor Swift on blast wasn't totally filtering out into the hall.
